Route & Idling Optimization
The 46 minutes at the checkpost. The 14 km detour. Found on the day.
Idling and route deviation rarely show up as a line item. Vinsag detects both inside each trip, prices them in rupees and ranks them so you fix the expensive ones first.
- Detour via Palakkad bypass, +14 km₹90
- Idling at checkpost, 46 min₹58
- Harsh acceleration, 11 events₹33
- Idling at loading bay, 18 min₹23

Under the hood
How deviation and idling are detected
Idling is measured, not guessed
An idle event is ignition on, speed zero and fuel level falling. Vinsag records where it happened, for how long and what it cost.
Stops are classified
Recurring idle locations are grouped - loading bays, checkposts, tolls, dhabas - so you can see which kind of stop wastes the most.
Routes are compared to the lane
Each trip's path and distance are compared to the usual path for that lane. Extra kilometers and off-route segments are highlighted.
Everything is priced
Idle minutes and extra kilometers are converted into rupees using the trip's actual fuel rate, then ranked by impact.
Signals used

Duration, location and fuel burned
Stop clusters

Path deviation
Off-lane segments and extra km
Rupee impact
Each cause priced at the actual rate
Not every idle minute is waste. AC in extreme heat, refrigeration units and safety stops are real needs. You can mark locations or vehicles as expected idling so the flags stay useful.
Outcomes
What changes for the team
- A ranked list of the idle locations that cost the most each week
- Lanes where drivers regularly take longer paths, and by how much
- Clear evidence for loading bay or checkpost wait conversations with customers
- Before and after proof when a reroute or idle-off policy is introduced

EXIT 01 Fuel audit
Your fleet's cheapest trip already happened. Make it the standard.
A fuel audit maps cost per km across your recent trips and shows which causes are worth fixing first.
